American Anthropological Association

On Tuesday, UC Davis issued a press release titled “Native Americans Descended From a Single Ancestral Group, DNA Study Confirms,” regarding an article published in the current issue of Molecular Biology and Evolution by AAA members Kari Britt Schroeder, Theodore Schurr and David G Smith, plus 12 other co-authors. Within 24 hours, this story has been reported by several media outlets and coverage is growing.

AAA regularly reports on our members in the news through a dedicated online space that is accessible from our homepage. This includes both mass media content created by AAA members and coverage of anthropologists in the popular press. Recent highlights include a piece on the work of Gregory Anderson (Living Tongues Institute for Endangered Languages) in the Statesman Journal and an LA Times article that quotes R Brian Ferguson (Rutgers U).
