Science and Human Rights Program Seeks Volunteers

AAAS LogoThe American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) launched its “On-Call” Scientists program in October 2008 to connect scientists interested in volunteering with human rights organizations in need of scientific expertise. Visit the program website to learn how social, behavioral, life and physical scientists can get involved and support human rights work.

To-date over 180 scientists from around the world have become volunteers. The program made its first match in March 2009 by connecting an economist with the University of Wyoming National Economic and Social Rights Initiative, which is studying the economic implications of rights-based health care reform in the US. Become a volunteer or request a volunteer by visiting the AAAS program site. Additional information is available regarding eligibility for  volunteering or hosting a volunteer
