The 2009 AAA Annual Meeting program is now available online, and as you’ve probably heard, we have a number of exciting new features this year, including a personalized online itinerary builder.
While you search through the many panels, papers, and other events offered at this year’s Meeting, don’t forget to consider signing up for one of forty available workshops.
The price of the workshops (which is separate from Meeting registration fees) ranges from free to $80.
Some of the highlights include “Getting Published: A Guide for Students” ($10 for student NASA members), “Ethnographic Writing and Its Discontents” ($20 for students and $40 for professionals) and “How to Find an Academic Job” (a complimentary workshop hosted by the AAA).
Visit our Workshop website to review the full list of available workshops, or check out the entire searchable program. You can sign-up for workshops when you register for the Meeting, or if you’re already registered, you can sign-in to add the desired workshops. Most workshops have a limited number of seats, so don’t wait to sign-up!

Thanks for the news! The new meeting information is really helpful.
I don’t see how to register for the workshops. I registered back in April, and I added a workshop to “my itinerary” but is that sufficient to register me for the workshop?
Thanks!
Hi Maggie-
Thanks very much for your question! You are right that it is not immediately obvious how to register, so I have tried to outline the steps below.
1) If you have already registered (or if you still need to register), go to the following address and click on “Register Today – Don’t pay higher onsite fees!”: http://www.aaanet.org/meetings/Registration-Fees.cfm
2) Sign in with your member ID and password. This will pull up your “Registration Information Currently on File”
3) To sign up for workshops, click “CONTINUE to add Abstracts, Roundtables and Workshops”
4) This will lead you to a series of pages that will allow you to select and register for complimentary workshops, and allow you to pay for those that charge a fee.
I hope this was helpful, but if you have any further questions, please feel free to contact Meeting Organizer Carla Fernandez (cfernandez@aaanet.org).
See you in Philly!
Sharon
Yeah, how do you add a workshop if you’ve already registered for the meeting?
