In an op-ed piece for the online edition of The Guardian, AAA Executive Board member Mary Gray writes about the experience of LGBT youth in rural areas.
Drawing on her own research, Gray suggests that “[t] he binaries of closeted/visible, rural/urban and online/offline should be questioned as they converge through media to privilege, and morally rank certain strategies of “being out” over others.”
