California Newsreel has launched a monthly free preview feature on its website, enabling visitors to view selected films prior to purchase. This month’s highlight is a preview version of the biographical documentary Zora Neale Hurston: Jump at the Sun. See the film website for a description, reviews and links to related teaching resources.

Newsreel has also created a new In Production webpage with info on documentary films that are currently in production, many of which may be of interest to anthropologists. Click on the titles to view trailers and film descriptions. The documentaries cover topics ranging from environmental justice and clean energy economies, to civil rights and race in education.
