2010 London Anthropology Day

London Anthropology Day (LAD) keeps on growing, reaching out to more and more potential anthropologists. This event gives secondary school students, teachers and advisors the opportunity to see what it’s like to study anthropology at the university level. The seventh annual LAD, held on July 8, was the largest one yet: eighteen universities from Wales, Ireland and England provided workshops on human evolution, forensics, music and dance, material culture and visual anthropology to over 350 participants. This free event is organized by the Royal Anthropological Institute’s Education Programme in collaboration with the British Museum and participating universities.

Photos from the 2010 LAD are available at the RAI’s Education Programme Flickr photostream. Also, Nafisa Fera, one of LAD’s organizers and the RAI’s Education Officer, is contributing a commentary to the series “Anthropology Education” in the next issue of Anthropology News.
