Anthropologists Unite in Face of Tornado Tragedy

Anthropology students at U of Alabama take heroic measures to help the Tuscaloosa community in the tornado aftermath.

As tornadoes devastated communities through the United States, students and faculty have united to help their communities and one another. From Shaw University to the University of Alabama, semesters may have ended early; however, damage clean up still remains.

Anthropology students at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa wasted no time in creating their own clean up crew. During the clean up, Ian Brown took photographs of the efforts and put together the video below to share with others a small piece of life as an anthropology student at the University of Alabama.

A special thanks to Becky Read, a doctoral student in Biocultural Medical Anthropology, for sharing this coverage on the AAA Facebook page.
